So, your life has taken a complete 180, huh?
You’re not always sure what to think. Somedays you’re passing the baby section at Target, glancing at all of the aaaa-dorable clothes they have. Those cute, baby socks. That beyond precious, flower-printed baby girl dress… Is there anything cuter? You think, “I can’t wait for my little one to be here!”
Other days are different. Other days you’re scared. This isn’t how you envisioned your life. This isn’t what you had planned.
If you’re anything like me, you had everything “figured out”. You were going to go to school, change your major a couple of times, graduate, find yourself a job that you loved, find a person to settle down with, get married, buy a house, THEN make some babies.
And if you’re also like me, thats how your life didn’t go. You met a guy during college that you were crazy about. Both of your lives didn’t go the way you had planned, you skipped some of those in-between stages and were suddenly making a baby!
Or maybe your story is totally different than mine. But still…
Talk about an adventure.
But just because it’s unexpected doesn’t mean it isn’t great.
Those baby clothes? You’re going to love buying them. You’re going to love dressing your little one up and doing a complete photo-shoot (and they may hate you for it, then and later down the road #embarrassingoutfits).
The first time you meet your baby? You’re going to be in love. You grew that human-being. Isn’t that crazy? You helped grow those little hands, fingers and toes. That hair on their head? All you (and 50% daddy, I suppose).
And when they smile for the first time? You may die of cuteness overload. I still die everytime my little guy smiles and there’s been millions already plastered on his chubby, cheeky face. It’s the most heartwarming feeling you could ever imagine.
I could go on and on…
But the point is:
You’re making so many sacrifices. It isn’t easy. Your previous, free-filled life, your time, your body, they’re all being taken over by a little human who can’t even talk yet.
But is it worth it? Yes. A million times, yes.
You’ve made an amazing decision to create life, life thats going to brighten so many people’s days. Especially yours.
Stay positive, breath, and remember that you can get through this. You’re going to get through this and have the best reward possible.
